The International Wushu Federation (IWUF) is the governing body of Wushu martial arts practice worldwide. It was founded in 1990 to govern the many distinct types of martial art.

The IWUF has done an outstanding job in standardizing the Wushu practice. Otherwise, it worked hard on the Wushu Olympic inclusion Case, But this Chinese fighting sport did not make it to the Summer Olympic Games.

Wushu is not recognized as an Olympic sport since it encompasses many fighting methods and forms and numerous schools. Therefore, It is challenging for Wushu to present a coherent image to worldwide audiences.

However, some favorable factors will contribute to Wushu Olympic inclusion in future games.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognizes the IWUF as the single international regulating authority for wushu in all its forms. The IWUF now has 156 national/territorial members from five continents.

Will Wushu Be Included in the 2024 Olympics?

Wushu will not included on list of martial arts sports competing in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. On the other hand, Judo, Taekwondo, and Wrestling will contest in the 2024 Olympics.
